重庆市湖北商会的前身是重庆湖广会馆，成立于1759年，位于重庆市渝中区东水门内，名两湖会馆，又名齐安公所，三楚公所，亦称禹王宫，最初为官方机构，主要负责“湖广填四川”大移民事务。随后演变成为民间商会，其职能有三：即“襄义举、笃乡情、联嘉会”。2003年重庆市、渝中区两级政府投资近2个亿将以湖广会馆为核心的会馆建筑群重新修饰一新，成为人类移民史上极为重要的一次移民运动——“湖广填四川”的移民博物馆。

Chongqing, which was established in 1759. The Huguang Hall, is also named Lianghu Hall or Qi An House, or San Chu House, which was also known as Yu Wang Palace. At the very beginning it was an official institution, mainly in charge of the affairs of grand immigration from Hubei and Guangdong to Sichuan province. Later it developed to be folk chamber of commerce, which had three responsibilities: undertake the righteous act, enhance the affection for hometown and organize gathering. In 2003, the government of Chongqing City and Chongqing Yuzhong district injected about 2,000 million to rebuild the Huguang Hall and the buildings around it, which makes the Huguang Hall became an immigration museum, which represented a very important immigration history of human beings.

随着改革开放不断深化，西部大开发战略实施，特别是重庆直辖后，在渝经商，工作、学习的人越来越多，相互交往、交流、合作的需求与日俱增，老乡们希望在异地他乡能够相聚一起话乡音，叙乡情的意愿也愈加迫切。为此，由时任重庆市人大常委会副主任的程贻举提议，由前任会长杨明仁等一批资深人士发起，在重庆市有关部门和广大在渝湖北籍人士的关心与大力支持下，于二00三年十一月开始筹备，二00四年十一月初正式挂牌成立，名为重庆市工商联（总商会）湖北商会，二00七年经重庆市民政局批准，重新登记注册成为具有独立法人资格的民间社会团体，更名为重庆市湖北商会。二00七年十月商会胜利召开了第二届会员代表大会，选举产生了新一届理事会，胡崇理担任第二届理事会会长。

With the deepening of development and opening to the outside world and the strategy of development of the West, especially after Chongqing becoming municipality, more and more people from Hubei do business, work and study in Chongqing. The demands for communicating and cooperating increase day by day, the Hubei villagers hopes get together in another city to talk about their hometown. Therefore, proposed by Cheng Yiju, the original vice-chairman of the Standing Committee, and initiated by a group of persons of reputation, such as the ex-chairman of HCCC, Yang Mingren, supported by relevant departments in Chongqing and all people from Hubei in Chongqing and approved by the Civil Administration Bureau of Chongqing, Chongqing Commercial Union Hubei branch started preparation in Nov. 2003 and finally established in Nov. 2004. In 2007, it renamed as Hubei Chamber of Commerce in Chongqing and became an independent legal entity of folk social group. In Oct. 2007, the 2nd meeting of representatives was successfully held and new members of council were selected; Mr. Hu Chongli was elected as the chairman of the organization.
目前，重庆市湖北商会有会员350人，其中企业会员70余家，女会员15人；商会下设秘书处、宣传与会员联络部、经济发展部、维权部四个工作机构，分设科技文卫、商贸、房地产、制造与服务业四个专门委员会。会员及其企业涉及商贸、化工、科技、信息、房地产、汽摩零部件制造、工程建筑、设计、服务等领域137个专业，年产值70余亿，解决就业岗位万余个，为重庆市的两个文明建设做出重要贡献。二00五年至二00七年连续三年被重庆市工商联评为先进直属商会。

商会第二届理事会成员

At present, there are 350 members (15 females) and more than 70 enterprises in HCCC. The HCCC has four subsidiary departments and four special committees, the four departments including secretariat, publicity, economic development and rights protecting; the four committees including technology and literature, trade and business, real estate and manufacturing and service. The members and their enterprises cover 137 specialized fields which include trade, chemistry, high-tech, information, real estate, auto parts, architecture, and service and other industries; the total annual output value is over 7 billions. All these enterprises have a significant contribution to both material and ethical construction for Chongqing City. Therefore, from 2005 to 2007, Chongqing Commercial Union awarded the HCCC Advanced Chamber of Commerce in last consequent 3 years.
重庆市湖北商会于二00五年九月创办了自己会刊——《楚之韵》，已出刊九期，属于内部赠阅季刊。
Since September 2005, HCCC has launched its own quarterly magazine, the Charm of Chu, free and only for all internal members.
